Description: Minor League baseball is alive and well in Palm Beach County, with affiliates of two Major League teams, the hometown Florida Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals. (And if you’re a New York Mets fan, the Mets train just up the road in Port St. Lucie, a very short drive from Palm Beach County.) Minor league games offer everything the Majors do but without the cost and without the traffic. The baseball’s good, the beer’s cold, the hot dogs are hot, and the fans really get into it. But, lest we forget . . . the Big Guys train here, as well. Both of the parent clubs, the Marlins and Cardinals, hold Spring Training here, and both play their home exhibition games here. So, if you’re here in March, you’ll get a sneak preview of what to expect from these two teams during the upcoming season.
