Description: Fuel Pizza has taken Charlotte by storm since opening its first location in an old Central Avenue gas station about a decade ago. There are now six Fuel Pizzas in Charlotte (listed above), plus three more locations in Davidson, Gastonia, and Rock Hill. Over the years, Fuel has been named Charlotte’s Best Pizza by Creative Loafing, Charlotte Magazine and City Search. Folks order at the counter—by the pie or the slice—choosing from unusual varieties and fresh toppings. Strombolis, calzones, salads, wings, and tasty garlic-knot mini-sandwiches complete the menu. Open for lunch and dinner daily. The Hearst Tower location in Uptown stays open into the wee hours of the morning on weekends to accommodate the bar crowd.
