Even though the name Myrtle Beach has been around for less than 100 years, people have been enjoying the Grand Strand area for a few centuries, from the original Native American inhabitants and visiting dignitaries such as George Washington to today’s vacationers. Despite all the new development that obscures much of this history, you could say we’re keeping up a historic seaside tradition by maintaining the Grand Strand as one of the East Coast’s favorite getaways.
