Description: This interpretive historical site at Mount Vernon offers tours of a reconstructed mill once used by the first president, who resided just down the road at his Mount Vernon estate. Near the gristmill, archaeologists have also uncovered the foundation of Washington’s whiskey distillery and have begun the process of restoring it to learn more about this component of plantation life. Tickets to see the gristmill are $4 for adults and $2 for children ages 6 to 11. If you’re purchasing a ticket to tour Mount Vernon, you can also visit the gristmill for $2 extra for adults and $1.50 extra for children.
