United Physical Therapy, LLC, is owned and operated by Peru native and licensed physical therapist Sonnie Blocki.
After working in a hospital setting for 11 years, where she is credited with having started the first Aquatic Therapy program in the Illinois Valley, Sonnie decided she could better serve her patients in her own private practice where she could provide one-on-one care. She made that commitment in 2005 and hasn’t looked back.
One-on-one care involves having a therapist who will stay with you while you are getting therapy, work with you to achieve your goals, and monitor your care and progress. That’s the kind of therapy Sonnie is committed to providing. Every aspect of health care is a personal choice, a choice you have a right to make as a patient. Your doctor and hospital cannot choose your physical therapist – you do.
In addition to providing therapy for conditions such as arthritis, cervical and back pain, knee and shoulder injuries, osteoporosis, trauma injuries and post joint replacement, Sonnie also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Lymphedema, which is an abnormal accumulation of lymphatic fluid in the tissues, causing swelling of a limb or body part.
Sonnie is a registered and licensed physical therapist, certified lymphedema therapist and certified garment fitter.
