| Description: | Every day in the United States as many as 15 million children leave school with no place to go. And every day many of these at risk youth are involved in crimes, join gangs, or experiment with drugs, alcohol or sex. IYCE offers a proven alternative for 8th through 12th grade students. We engage them in activities and on-going relationships that increase confidence and encourage success in all areas of their lives - at home, in school and in the community. IYCE programs nurture the spirit, soul and body of every student who participates, at the same time it emphasizes fun activity-based learning that reinforces the knowledge and skills needed for success. They also promote positive relationships among students and adults, create an engaging environment for students to interact with each other and provide opportunities for students to make decisions and learn leadership skills. Although we are a new program we strive to serve the Youth of Jacksonville, Florida through comprehensive programs that are offered 5 days per week for four hours each day during the school year and six hours during the summer months. Our program content is designed to meet specific local needs and interests, however, we are committed to providing a comprehensive after-school experience that includes three components: Independent Learning, Academics and Enrichment.
