| Description: | The Cottonwood Inn, Bed and Breakfast is a family-owned B and B just a few miles outside of Taos, New Mexico. The inn has 8 rooms, and each of them are unique. The structure was originally built in the 1930s, and has had additions in the 1960s, 1980s, 1990s, & 2001, & 2006. The adobe house has huge common areas and gardens. Many of the rooms have kiva fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, jacuzzis, steam showers, private hot tubs, decks, patios, and much more. We have thousands of books, cds, dvds, vhs tapes, and games available for use in the rooms, or in our living room or two dining rooms, or out on our lovely patios weather permitting. The Cottonwood Inn is great for romantic getaways. The gardens and luxurious rooms lend themselves to intimacy and romance. We serve a full breakfast every morning and use organic produce from local cooperatives whenever possible. We also use cruelty-free, pasture-raised meat in our meals. We have free-range chickens roaming the property and also have two dogs in residence. At any given time there are more than 10 bird feeders on the property. We attract hundreds of humming birds, oriels, flickers, finches, robins, and many other species. We have recently added two new perennial gardens as well as a second vegetable garden to better serve our guests. We are a pesticide free facility and spend a lot of our free time weeding, as a result! We have two gray-water diverter systems, and employ ozonation processors to filter and re-use the water in our raised perennial gardens. We will be getting our own bee-hives this year and look forward to offering VERY local honey to our guests. We are grateful to live in such a beautiful part of New Mexico, and we like to give back to the earth in as many ways as possible. We have found that many of the guests to the Cottonwood feel the same way, and appreciate our attempts to leave a lighter footprint on the planet. The Cottonwood Bed and Breakfast also has two pet-friendly rooms. We only ask that you keep your pets on a leash while you visit, as our chickens are afraid of new pooches. The area around the Cottonwood Bed and Breakfast is gorgeous, and we are more than willing to assist our guests any questiosn regarding rafting, horseback riding, llama trekking, ballooning, hiking, picnics, skiing, or with a variety of artistic workshops that are available. |
