In 1992, lifelong friends John Meador and Chris Janse had the crazy idea of starting a striping company while both holding down jobs at a major downtown Houston bank. Working out of the back of Chris’ small pickup truck, the two young and energetic entrepreneurs would stripe parking lots during the night and get a few hours of rest before reporting to their “real” jobs at the bank. As luck would have it, within a year of starting the company, the bank failed and John and Chris found themselves without a job. They decided to make the plunge and devote all of their time to the striping company.
