- The L.A. THOMPSON Gallery of Fine Art is located in a charming old 1909 building in the lovely town of Clifton, Texas which is nestled in scenic Bosque County. Many nationally recognized artists live in the area , inspired by the quiet beauty of the land. Their art has infused the area with cultural vitality and charm. The Gallery features professional painters and sculptors from the area as well as New Mexico and Oklahoma. Custom framing and art consultations round out the services of the gallery. The owner and director, An Thompson is available to assist visitors and collectors with their questions and purchases. As an artist and framer she is experienced in the selection of art and in the framing needs of the collector. This laid back little gallery is a great destination for a weekend getaway in an area rich with wildlife and quiet country roads,large oak trees,pastorial scenes and antique shops . There are several B&B's and a new Best Western Inn available for the overnight stay. On any given day you are likely to meet artists and visitors from nearby ranches or from far flung places. All are welcome...come by for a chat. The next show "Bobbe Gentry Sculptures" with artist reception is scheduled for October 18th from 6-9pm. Exhibiting Artists are: Eliseo, Hugh Gaither, Bobbe Gentry, Betty Graham, Mike Irvin, Martin Peerson, Sarah Russell, David Sprague, Kathy Tate, Jo Beck and Mike Windsor. Gallery hours: Tue.-Sat., 10am-5pm, Sun. 1-5pm, Mon. 12-5pm
