The Miami Springs / Airport Area Chamber of Commerce works to better the quality of life and assist the businesses located in Miami Springs and the surrounding Airport Area.
Miami Springs and the Airport Area are closely related to the aviation aspects of Miami-Dade County. The town was built in 1926 by aviator and inventor, Glenn Hammond Curtiss, owner of over 500 patents pertaing to aviation. He built the golf course first, in 1924, and then built the city around it. During the early days of Miami, the Miami Springs Golf Course provided water for the entire county. When the airport was moved to its present location, Miami Springs thrived as the "Aviation City".
