- Richard Loper started El Dorado Woodworks and Custom Furniture in 1993 with an ambition to build the very best furniture he could. Self taught, he employed time tested techniques such as mortise and tenon joinery that has garnered him a client base that stretches coast to coast. Richard started out with a keen interest in reproducing furniture in the Arts & Crafts style from the turn of the century with influences coming from the masters of the era such as Gustav Stickley, Frank Lloyd Wright, Greene & Greene and Charles Renie Macintosh. Ten years after he started the custom furniture business, Richard expanded his talent to creating beautiful custom kitchen cabinets, built it bookcases, wainscot paneling and residential trim. More recently, Richard and his team of craftsmen have been building incredible pieces in many different styles that include Empire, Federal, Contemporary and traditional. Basically there is not much El Dorado Woodworks can't do for you.
