- Shell Federal Credit Union was originally formed in 1937, providing financial services to 40 employees inside the Shell Deer Park plant. Today it serves an expanded field of membership that includes individuals and businesses in Harris County, Texas. Shell FCU has set “Member Education” as a priority - to educate members through sound financial services. Its 10 year partnership with the Deer Park Independent School District, established in 2003, provides financial education to high school students and is just one step toward achieving this goal. As of June 2007, the Credit Union operates 4 branch locations and an in-school branch (accessible by Deer Park High School students and faculty only). Shell FCU offers a full range of financial products and services to individual members, including competitive savings accounts, free checking, affordable loans, online banking and much more. Business Account Services are available to businesses and business owners. Products included are checking accounts to meet the needs of the specific business, limited equipment loans and loans on commercial vehicles and real estate. Also, available to Shell FCU members are the investment services of the MEMBERS Financial Services Program.
