Powerhouse Athletics is a non-for-profit company specializing in the elite training of young athletes, ages 4 - 18, in cheer, dance and tumbling for competitive cheer. PA offers many competitive cheer teams to choose from, such as Pee Wee Sparklers (ages 4-8), PA Flames (ages 11 & under) and PA TNT (ages 15 & under). We also offer competitive dance teams that focus on the pom and funk styles.
There are other programs in the area that work with children in the area of cheer and/or dance. But PA believes in a strong progression process and a good, strong work ethic. We offer REAL TRAINING - not just a "play time" for children. WE MAKE WORK FUN! We encourage parents to seek out training for their child that will truly make a difference in their lives!
We staff experienced and safety-certified coaches who know and understand that every child learns differently and needs a positive, yet structured environment in which to learn. PA does not "OVERLOAD" classes and teams, a practice in which many programs engage in, where they stuff as many children in as possible, without admitting that a ratio of 1/20 (participants/staff) is hardly realistic and will not help the children excel.
Our teams travel to various competitions and performances, see new and exciting things, and meet new people from all over! All competitors have the opportunity to compete individually as well as on a team.
PA also offers financial assistance to those who qualify because we feel that NO child should be turned away due to financial limitations. We also house the PA Parent Association -a group who actively organizes fundraisers to help defer cost for expenses such as uniforms, competition fees, etc.
PA has competed only a handful of times thus far and has walked away with first place EVERY TIME! We have on staff national-level judges who have a keen eye for how to choreograph and put together winning routines. PA simply has it all - a positive, structured, well-staffed and well-equipped (we have a full competition floor as well) program that is already a great success.
