Fargo: Health Care

Fargo is the primary health care center for the region between Minnesota and the West Coast. The major health system is MeritCare Health System, which is the largest group practice and largest hospital in the state. Nearly 400 physicians specialize in 74 areas of medicine, including internal medicine, prenatal care, cancer care, and eating disorders. Three hospital locations, including the new Children's Hospital, provide 583 patient beds. In 2004, MeritCare was rated one of the nation's top 100 hospitals in a Modern Healthcare report.
