Are there planes from anywhere in Maine to Banks Airport - trying to figure out if it is possible to fly into Banks Airport from another airport in Maine or NH. We are trying to get to Swan's Island on Thursday Sept. 20th and it looks like the ferry from Bass Harbor Maine does not run on that day.
Are we wrong or right in assuming that a ferry is not available???

    Please help if you can.
If there is a flight what is the price for two people and what are the details.

Thanks so much - any information would be so helpful.

There are no flights, public or private to this airport. The runway was used some years ago by a gentleman whom has since passed on. The Medivac helicopter uses it as a safe landing site. As for the ferry, they run a full schedule everyday, including holidays. The only times it doesn't run is if the weather, in the Captain's opinion, is too rough or if there is a mechanical issue. It is a gorgeous island and worth the visit! My in laws live there so we go as often as we can. Check the ferry schedule at Maine State Ferry Service, you'll want the Bass Harbor to Swans Island route. Good luck! Ed
