This is at present a quiet peaceful neighborhood. An airport (public) will become a noisy nuisance and will destroy this environment for people to live in peace without aircraft flying above. Any move to make this a public airport (city) etc:, will be a political one. We don't want that around our homes. We were here first. We do not need anymore profits here to be made by outsiders. Our Dawsonville City Council are moving toward their own agenda for profits. Profits at the Counties expense and will destory our way of life. I have witnessed this scenario before. Talk is cheap...as well as deceiving. We have already experienced the deception surrounding the motor sports park...the noise deception...and then an airport...what a joke?

Jim, urban expansion is a fact of life. There is only so much space and people are multiply on this planet. Just deal with it.
If you have a problem with your small town growth then just move somewhere else that is quieter and suits your needs. But wait until property value in dawsonville doubles and triples (very likely) as the city continues to grow. Don't be selfish for your own interests - expand your view a little. there are are still may rural areas you can move to.

I'm building a retreat center--that requires quiet and why we looked for a nice rural area. Why is it not required to inform potential investors of pending airport expansion or motor parks in realtor's offering?
