Comedy Store


The Comedy Store is a famous stand-up comedy club located at 8433 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, CA. It has hosted comics from all over the country including Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Jim Carrey, George Carlin, Whoopi Goldberg, Richard Pryor and dozens more. Since 1979, the Comedy Store has served as the host location for the annual HBO Young Comedians televised specials.

The venue opened in 1972 and continues to showcase comic legends and new promising talent every night. The club consists of three rooms: the Original room, Belly room and Main room, which seats 450 people. The main room can also be reserved for private events.

The Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip is open daily. Hours of operation are 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday and 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Visitors must be over 21 years old and there is a two drink minimum. The Comedy Club, La Jolla is a sister establishment is just north of San Diego.

In addition to the Comedy Store, the Sunset Strip features numerous other attractions including premier boutiques, restaurants and nightclubs that are on the cutting edge of the entertainment industry. As a popular hangout for celebrities, there is always a possibility to spot someone famous while visiting.
