Lookout County Park

The beaches have closed at different times for shark sightings, and there are various wildlife sightings in the area, so be sure to call ahead or check the website to make sure all areas of the park are accessible. The park is located at the corners of Highway 101 and Evans Road, near Finney Road in the Summerland area. The park, like many in the Santa Barbara area, is a popular wedding and reception destination. Couples can reserve pavilions or grounds at the park through the Santa Barbara County Parks Department. Parks can also be reserved for events besides weddings including birthday parties, graduation celebrations, and reunions. Trails though the county parks can be used for hiking, beach access, paths to destinations like schools and community centers, and to explore nature and get exercise. Certain sections permit pets to be off-leash. A number of community programs and nature experiences are offered at Santa Barbara County parks, but there are very few options at Lookout County Park. The park is a great place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature without having to worry about too much organization and structure. The town of Summerland is home to two bed and breakfasts, the Inn on Summerhill and the Summerland Inn. Visitors can enjoy dining at the Nugget or the Summerland Beach Café.
