Raging Waters - San Dimas, California - California's largest water park


Located in San Dimas, California, Raging Waters the largest water park in the state. The Travel Channel ranked this park as number three on their list of the Top Ten United States Water Parks. It covers over 50 acres and includes nearly 40 separate attractions for guests of all ages. Raging Waters has both exciting and relaxing rides that help visitors cool off.

The Flowrider is one of the most popular rides at Raging Waters. Flowrider is a 360,000-gallon tank that feels like the ocean flowing under you. Guests can use a body board or surfboard to catch waves, and there is seating around the area so visitors can just watch if they don't want to jump in the water as well. There's a height restriction of 48 inches to ride Flowrider so that everyone stays safe, but there are also a number of nearby rides especially for children. Kid's Kingdom is a water playground with tunnels, slides, showers, and other activities. There's also The Little Dipper miniature slide, and two playgrounds for slightly older children - Volcano Fantasea and Splash Island, both of which have 36-inch height requirements.

Of course, there are also a number of other rides at Raging Waters, most geared toward older children and adult riders. Amazon Adventure allows raiders to jump on a raft and float down an 18-foot-wide tropical rider. For those who want a wilder ride, Thunder Rapids is a good option. This 550-long ride takes riders on a five-person raft down a 14-foot channel of rapids. In addition, the park is known for their water slides, which include Bermuda Triangle, Dark Hole, High Extreme, Speed Slides, The Vortex, Wave Cone, and Dragon's Den. Before leaving, guests can also challenge themselves at Lilly Pads, the part's obstacle course. Guests use an overhead rope to jump from pad to pad, trying not to fall into the pool below.

The park also provides guests with places to eat, picnic areas, places to sit and enjoy the sun, a gift shop, and lockers. Guests must wear appropriate beachwear, since this is a water park, though some cotton clothing is permissible for those not on rides and at some of the pool areas. All clothing must be tasteful for a family environment and cannot have metal components, which may damage rides, hurt other riders, or get caught while riding. The park also provides life jackets, and they recommend that all guests under 48 inches tall or are weak swimmer wear life jackets on the rides. In some areas, guests under 48 inches tall are required to wear them.

The Raging Waters amusement park is available for corporate events, birthday parties, and other kinds of events. They're open from May to September, with limited hours late and early in the season and during weekdays. During July and August, the park is open 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekends. General admission is $35.99, though there are discounts for children, seniors, and those who purchase tickets online. In addition, the park offers a corporate ticket program and season passes to help people save even more money.
