Rocky and Bullwinkle Statue

Rocky and Bullwinkle Statue is located at West Sunset Boulevard between Harper Avenue and Havenhurst Drive in West Hollywood, California. This is a 20 foot statue of Jay Ward Productions most successful cartoon characters, Rocket J. Squirrel and Bullwinkle J. Moose. The statue was erected in 1961 outside the production offices of Jay Ward Productions, which have since closed and are currently occupied by Hollywood Hounds.

The huge statue cannot be missed as it depicts the moose clad in a red t-shirt, yellow shorts and white gloves holding the flying squirrel in his hand. When the statue was first erected the figures also spun around, but this no longer is the case. Visitors will be able to see the statue any time of day throughout the week and it is popular with fans of the cartoon, which was first broadcast in 1959.

There are several similar attractions nearby including a 12 foot statue of Kermit the Frog outside the Henson Studios about a mile away. Visitors to the area can enjoy the nightlife with The Laugh Factory on sunset Boulevard very close to the Rocky and Bullwinkle Statue. There are several eateries nearby too such as Katana, an Asian restaurant on Sunset Boulevard.
