Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel in California is a Historic City Gem

Housed in Sacramento's restored historic Public Market Building, the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel is situated in the city's downtown area, not far from the California State Capital Building as well as a number of museums and other attractions, including historic Old Sacramento.

Part of the Starwood Hotels and Resorts chain, Sheraton Grand Sacramento is unique among the city's hotels because of its past. The lobby contains high ceilings and a warehouse-type look indicative of a public market of old, yet is elegantly furnished, warm, and welcoming. A caf, and other amenities line the modern interior of the hotel while the outside of the building still resembles the old marketplace.

The hotel contains a total of 503 guest rooms, all of which are smoke free. Furnished in the warm tones of nature, the rooms include plasma televisions with a full range of cable channels available, oversized desks, handsome sleigh beds, coffee maker with Starbucks products, cordless telephones, refrigerators, bath robes, and much more. Special Sheraton Club rooms, located on their own preferred floors, include upgraded amenities such as free bottled water, complimentary executive fitness center use, and access to the Club Lounge, where guests can enjoy continental breakfast, afternoon hors d'oeuvres and a variety of beverages. Club members also have access to fax machines, copiers, and printers, and a variety of complimentary office supplies.

The Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel's beautiful open atrium forms a lovely space for meeting with friends and enjoying meals. Morgan's Central Valley Bistro, the centerpiece of the atrium, is an excellent casual setting for all three meals. The restaurant also serves up a sumptuous breakfast buffet featuring a wide variety of entrees from eggs to blintzes and much more. The eatery specializes in California Fresh Cuisine, which refers to the fact that they make excellent use of local produce from area farms. At night, Morgan's Central Valley Bistro becomes an elegant place to enjoy the chef's California Fusion specialties. An extensive wine list that includes many Golden State vintages rounds out the offerings. As the restaurant is a favorite with locals as well as hotel guests, reservations are nearly always suggested.

Additional places to eat include Glides Market, a small deli/caf, that serves a variety of lighter options for both breakfast and lunch, including delicious deli-style sandwiches, and the Public Market Bar, which offers snacks and beverages from about 2 pm until around midnight.

Other amenities at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel include a 24-hour complimentary fitness center with cardio equipment and free weights, and a heated, outdoor pool. Additional amenities include babysitting, a business center, concierge service, laundry service, a gift shop, complimentary luggage storage, and more. Wireless internet access is available in the lobby area and in the bistro.

Nineteen meeting spaces are available at the hotel, ranging from 250 square feet for the smallest rooms to more than 10,000 square feet for the hotel's Grand Nave Ballroom, which is ideal for weddings and other special events. Banquet and catering services are available and a convention services staff is on hand to help with planning.
