Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

HGTV's Showcase Is Ever-Expanding, And Home Town Just The Latest

Posted 12-26-2021 at 07:32 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

There's no denying the popularity of HGTV (Home & Garden Television) in the world of cable these days. Your writer even has it on his tube every here and there. They've got so many fine shows which give America an inside look at renovating houses.

The network has seen phenomenal growth with a number of their series, but one of their biggest successes has been a show called "Home Town", starring Ben and Erin Napier. They're a couple who live in Laurel, Mississippi,...

2022 Needs To Be A Year Of Awakening In America

If you were to ask me how my year went, then I'd say, overall and despite the current climate in Washington, my year went just fine. At least, this writer never got COVID, gotten attacked by an illegal alien, or had gotten bullied by the Internal Revenue Service.

And that's being generous.

My life doesn't deserve to be as good as it's been, but my nation is under severe siege. A year ago, we went through the worst election experience anyone could...

Case's Cousin Just Got Something Unplanned: A Heart Attack

Posted 12-26-2021 at 06:36 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

I got some surprising news from my mother earlier last week. She sent me a drastic text telling me that one of my cousins just had a heart attack.

It hit home, but it also did surprise me. Yes, there is family history on his mother's side regarding heart attacks. But this particular cousin of mine is just 58 years young, and he's been a bastion of fitness and health for years. He's lifted weights and had become very active for a number of years. My mother told me...

Texas Still Has Room To Grow, But West Texas Needs To Be Looked At

Posted 12-26-2021 at 06:22 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

When you hear people talking about moving to Texas, the four areas most talked about are usually Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin. Those usually are what comes first in many people's minds.

Now, there is starting to become more focus on other Texas communities which have been or are going to start seeing growth spurts. And they are places you may not first expect. Places like Tyler, Killeen, Sherman-Denison, Texarkana, Corpus Christi, McAllen,...
