Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Seeking Communion - September 30, 2019

Posted 09-29-2019 at 09:19 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14

DESIRING HIS PRESENCE

It is certainly a time of calling upon the name of the Lord and praying but we don't want to forget the rest of the Scripture...it is also a time to seek His face.

To seek means to desire, to seek to...

Albert Finch Ministry - Daily Devotional - September 29, 2019

2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

As the glory of God comes, there’s also power. In Acts 1:8 it says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;….“ As you TURN UP YOUR EXPECTANCY, this will be one of the most powerful times of increase that will come from the glory and the power...

Expecting God Empowered Boldness

Posted 09-28-2019 at 06:59 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

"that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, that the Christ may dwell, through faith, in your hearts, being rooted and founded in love, - Ephesians 3:16,17

As believers we are rooted and grounded in His magnificent love (Ephesians 3:17). We have courage, the depth of which is confidence in the Lord. Today we declare that we will "Trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not unto...

Albert Finch Ministry - Daily Devotional - September 28, 2019

Luke 14:28 - "For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?"

The parable of the man building a tower is a continuation of the teaching regarding what it takes to be a disciple of Jesus -- this parable stresses commitment. It takes a forsaking of all to be Jesus' disciple.

Jesus is simply saying, "count the cost." Just as a king wouldn't engage in war (verse 31) without...

We Are The Light Of The World

Posted 09-27-2019 at 07:08 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

John 14:12 - "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

Jesus' life was a model of what Believers could become if they were in right relationship with the Father. This meant that every true believer would have access to the realm of life that Jesus lived in. Jesus came as the light of the world. He then passed the baton to us announcing...
