Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Embracing our ultimate purpose

Posted 05-23-2016 at 12:06 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

The anointing resident in us will prepare us for our place in the mystical body of Christ and point us to our high calling.

Lukewarmness is the worst state that any Christian can ever fall into. The reason for the lukewarmness of the Laodicean church is that they had everything they needed. "Things" really can be the greatest distraction from our ultimate PURPOSE (our destiny).

"Because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew...

Directing your attention inward

Posted 05-22-2016 at 11:55 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

As you stop your mind, and you direct your attention inward to your spirit where He abides -- you are willfully knocking on the door that divides the earthly realm from His realm; you are seeking Him.

"Knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." - Luke 11:9,10

Moving to the promised land

Posted 05-22-2016 at 11:46 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

If you are in a desert God is ready to take you out! Time to move on from eating manna to eating the food that God freely gives in the promised land of your DESTINY!

When we have the eyes of our hearts opened to see the purpose of God for our life, a faith is imparted to live radically different and free from the bonds of temporal concerns.

Choose to lay down all disappointment -- choose to lay down all discouragement -- choose to believe again -- choose to hope again...

Acknowledging the power that is flowing through us

Posted 05-22-2016 at 11:34 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Luke 11:1 states: "Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, 'Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.'"

We do not want to pray in our old ways, asking and begging. We want to come before Him as His Bride, drawing near to Him in a deep place of intimacy, and just be. When we are near Him, He is able to dwell in us more fully. From this posture everyone we encounter will be impacted by His presence in us....
