My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

This is getting incredibly silly! We must now become vegetarians to stop global warming??

Yup! That's right.

According to Lord Stern who was once the chief economist at the World Bank and who authored a 2006 study on the economics of climate change...

Quote:
Meat is a wasteful use of water and creates a lot of greenhouse gases. It puts enormous pressure on the world’s resources. A vegetarian diet is better.
That's from Climate chief Lord Stern: give up meat to save the planet - Times Online

So if we are truly serious about stopping so-called global warming well...it would behoove us to become vegetarians.

Of course it is unlikely that many of us will do that so Argentina's scientists have devised a method to capture cow farts...oops I mean methane gas...a cow backpack that captures the methane gas a cow emits! Yup. That's right.

It sits atop a cow like a big water tank capturing the methane from a cow while it roams around chewing the cud (see Cow Backpacks Trap Methane Gas).

Even the U.N. has been raising the alarm about cow farts in recent years. Dr. Henning Steinfeld, Chief of the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization said this in another 2006 report (Livestock a major threat to environment)...

Quote:
Livestock are one of the most significant contributors to today’s most serious environmental problems. Urgent action is required to remedy the situation.
I can only imagine what kind of urgent remedy might be enough to protect our fragile Earth from the effects of cow farts.

And all this based on a scientifically dubious theory that global warming not only is happening but that it is caused primarily by carbon dioxide with things like cow farts being a major contributor.

Given all this it would seem that we have no choice but to all become vegetarians immediately! If we are to save our planet that is.

I mean if what these people are saying is the Gospel truth (which I plainly do not believe it is) then what choice do we have? What urgent action can possibly stem the overwhelming tide of cow farts about to engulf our planet into global warming oblivion if becoming vegetarians is not it?

UPDATE

This whole global warming farty thing has gone too far!

I just read of Estonia having previously started taxing it's farmer's for cow farting (I haven't followed this to a reputable source but it's not beyond belief given the so-called seriousness of cow farting to the environment (http://www.capecodtoday.com/blogs/in...-farts?blog=94)!

What's next? A fart tax based on how much we weigh? Or maybe a flatulence tax based on population density?

Or determining whether to get a dog or cat based on a formula of how much flatulence is expected per pound of weight?

Let's get real folks! I mean if farts and methane gas and all that truly IS as serious of a concern as the so-called experts on global warming claim it is and IF we MUST do something to save our planet by reducing the amount of gaseous farting...the above scenarios are not unreasonable to imagine happening.

We and our animals need to stop farting!! That's all there is to it!

If the planet is about to be lost from cow and other farting then we MUST declare a state of emergency immediately and bring to bear the resources of all world governments to stop our...well...farting!

LOL...too funny!
