Although true, hunters DO eat, at least the skilled ones do, my name derives from the world of horses.
And because the word hunter is in my name, people automatically think I'm a guy. Not even close.
Whenever I meet someone named Hunter I have to bite my tongue to keep from saying "That's my name, too!"

...and my dog is acting like a nutcase. She never gets to go with me so she's not accustomed to all the excitement. Being pushed around in a cart - reminiscent of her jogging stroller we had in Mississippi. Growling at Guinea Pigs. Rows upon rows of squeaky toys. It was all too much. By the time we got to the register she was a basket case. She goes into a "lights are on, nobody's home" mode that involves full face panting, glazed eyeballs and attempting to scale anything to get to mom. Maybe I should mention she's a Minpin/Jack-Russell cross. That explains a whole slew of things, don't it? (a line from a movie there) So the cashier asks if she's like that at home.
This is a dog who goes into depression when a suitcase appears. She is so used to me leaving her for 2 weeks, 2 months... 6 months.... She just never knows. I've promised never to leave her again, since I'm no longer in the military. And she loves her mommy. And you have to love a dog who worships you.
(here she is on the beach in Hawaii)
