Try common sense. According to the Bible the Hebrews were in Egypt for over 400 years. At the time of the Exodus, their number was 2.1 million (or about 1/5 the population of Egypt).

And yet they left absolutely no archeology foot print. Not even a piece of broken pottery. No graves, not writings. And the first mention that the Egyptians make of th Hebrews does not even have them in Egypt. It is in the:

The Merneptah Stele
—also known as the Israel Stele or Victory Stele of Merneptah—is an inscription by the Ancient Egyptian king Merneptah (reign: 1213 to 1203 BC) In which the Egyptions defeat the Libians in Cananna and incidetnally descimates a nomatic people living in the hills (the Hebrews). Since 1967 a number of their settlement have beed found.

The Hykos were NOT the Hebrews.

Most archaeologists describe the Hyksos as a mixed, West Asian people. While the term "Asiatic", is often used of the Hyksos, in the context of Ancient Egypt, it refers to any people native to areas east of Egypt. West Asian origins are suggested, in particular, by the names of individuals such as Khyan and Sakir-Har, and pottery finds that resemble pottery found in archaeological excavations in the area of modern Israel.

The Hyksos conquered and ruled Egypt for a time before they were driven out. Not so the Hebrews who were never there.

" Hyksos, group of mixed Semitic-Asiatics who immigrated into Egypt's delta region and gradually settled there during the 18th century bce. Beginning about 1630, a series of Hyksos kings ruled northern Egypt as the 15th dynasty (c. 1630–1523 bce; see ancient Egypt: The Second Intermediate period).Nov 20, 2014

>>Josephus goes into detail quoting Manetho showing that the Jews were in Egypt. However, Josephus equates the Jews with the Hyksos ( an error), and the Exodus with the expulsion of the Hyksos from Egypt <<

Read the rest too >>.."There is no evidence of the Exodus in Egyptian writings. The best explanation is to identify the Exodus from Egypt with the expulsion of the Hyksos for there is no other mass exit ...

Josephus is correct about the Hykos being driven out of Egypt, but they were not the Hebrews

Therefore, no Hebrews in Egypt, no Moses, no Exodus! The yarn was written about 700 -800 BC in Cananna. It's the "founding legend" of the Jewish nation.
