Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

LIV And Let LIV: Super Bowl Time Is Here
Posted 01-31-2020 at 06:52 PM by case44
You're making a list for snacks. You're wondering which guests will gather. You're gearing up for the big game. Heck, you're probably making sure the TV still works.
Sunday, indeed, is Super Bowl time, the second in a line of big events going on in our country this next week. Super Bowl LIV is the latest Roman numeral. LIV. That's fifty-four to you and me. Many hours will have passed after Punxsutawney Phil emerges from the ground for his bold spring prediction, and it's a wonder he isn't picking the Super Bowl favorite, either. But Case isn't backing down. No. He's going to provide the pick for the game right here, right now.
Kansas City 34, San Francisco 27.
And, yes, your eyes will also be fixed on this year's round of commercials. We've had some clunkers the last few years, so hopefully, those TV specialists will get on the ball and make audiences laugh hysterically again. Where you are, hopefully you'll get to gather with important friends or loved ones for the big event. You're worth that and more.
Top dates in a loaded week:
Sunday, February 2
Groundhog Day, Super Bowl LIV, Palindrome 02-02-2020
Monday, February 3
Texas UIL Biennial Realignment (Athletics)
Remembering Buddy Holly's death (The day the music died)
Tuesday, February 4
State of the Union Address
Wednesday, February 5
National Signing Day
Later this coming month: Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras

Came pretty close on my score prediction. Chiefs won, nonetheless, 31-20. Kansas City well deserves this victory parade.
And San Francisco can be spared any national embarrassment. They don't deserve a parade until they reverse their destructive policies, clean up the needles and the feces, and elect a new mayor. Better yet, they should put Governor Gruesome in jail.Posted 02-03-2020 at 05:59 AM by case44
