Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Ain't It Great Having Reggie With The Astros? I Think So
Posted 02-02-2023 at 08:29 PM by case44
He became a legend during his playing career. And now, Reggie Jackson has really come full circle.
We'll skip everything you already know about Reggie, but I want to share something that some of you may not know. The man known as Mr October has spent much of the last two seasons as an advisor to Jim Crane with the Houston Astros after serving in the same capacity with the New York Yankees. And like his playing days, Reggie just can't stay away from championships, as the Astros just won one in 2022, with the hopes of becoming the first Major League Baseball repeat champion since 2000 (and, ironically, the team was the Yankees). It's only fitting that he is an ambassador for Crane on certain baseball matters within the Astros organization. If nothing else, he's also offering moral support for a team that's been accustomed to winning big in recent years.

Furthermore, he gets to host a big golf event every year for a special cause. And --- Wouldn't you know it? --- everybody's gathering out there in Florida.

All kinds of stars from the baseball world, past and present, were at the January event. Reggie Jackson is a champion, period. And there's no better place for him in his twilight years than right there in Houston.

Reggie may be good, but wasn't it a kick to have Kate Upton in or near the clubhouse for the last few years?
