The place near us that is the Gold Standard is much, much, much less money but still not exactly cheap. I think the buy-in for a one bedroom is two grand with monthly fees of maybe four which includes three meals a day and the people are great. I have three friends who moved there and just love it.

My spouse is too sick, though, and his care would run $10k a month in the part of the facility which provides that. It's only for those who moved in as healthy people and became ill afterward.
