Great Causes (cause i have writters block) and some that arent so great

I guess I never really knew there were so many "causes" to put so much effort into, not that Im making light of any of them, just seems Im either too lazy or dont have the time or inclination to become involved with any of them. One of the lastest trends is "what are you doing to "go green"..well to be honest as green as I get is when i mow the yard. I could probably list about 50 "big causes" Ive saw over the years..all good..yes-Farm-aid with Willie Nelson, still have to wonder if that was to help the farmers or the IRS..Save the Planet, Live aid, that one where all those people who sang..even ole Michael Jackson, I think the song was "we are the world".
Theres save the doplins, the great white spotted (inset animal here)..and the list goes on and on. I just got to noticing.
Another one that I noticed last night is the "over-supportive parent" cause. You know the one where you know every activity of the persons children in front of you just by looking at their backglass of their vehicle? I might fall into that category if I could just find the place that made the stickers, so far just writting in the dust on the backglass has worked well..until it rains that is.
I once had a cause, one that didnt last very long, thanks to the Arkansas State Police (SALUTE!)
Seems they didnt think it was a good cause to stop in the middle of a highway just to put a empty beer can in a dead armadillos hands in the middle of the highway. If you do it just right it looks like its laying on its back and is drinking the beer and has passed out. Maybe its cause I parked my truck in the middle of the 4 lane in the turning lane to do it? idk could be. Course by the time they made us quit we had covered about a 20 mile stretch and there were "drunk" armadillos all up and down hwy 49. Good thing we werent drinking the beer, just using empty ones we had found.
Me and my friend JT had a "cause" once, we were out riding our bikes and back then people dumped stuff everywhere. Well we were riding past a dump and there were a bunch of local newspapers that I guess a route carrier had dumped. Well I looked at Jt and he at me and we decided to have a little fun. We got up bright and ugly the next morning..(o by the way did I say the papers were about 6 years old?)..and took my old honda 110 three wheeler and we went around to about 20-30 houses and took out the new papers, replacing them with the old ones. Im not for sure how that one turned out..for them anyways-lol
Oh and last but not least, there was that time that we decided that JTs older sister should be "possum queen" after watching the Beverly Hillbillies, where grannie was possum queen. So we spent half the night drawing pictures of her on poster board with big letters above the pic that said..Vote for Betty Sue ..for possum queen. Of course the mistake we made was to to post them on the entrance way to the local church as well and to this day some people still..jokinly of course..still refer to her as "ole PQ". (mainly cause she wont punch you like she would back then). My main "cause" right now is to accept the fact that my oldest daughter has been "discovered" by boys. This should be interesting (shes 12)..I think Ill handle it like this..YouTube - Rodney Atkins---Cleaning this Gun (Come on in Boy)

Enjoyed your blog. My daughter is 10 and assures me in the 4th grade you only hold hands with your boyfriend... Kissing is for 5th grade, which of course is the grade she is going into!

One of my favorite movies is "uncle buck". I think that my husband will be handling boyfriends about the same way that uncle buck liked to handle his neices. We have so many plans for our children when the get older....

Great blog, as usual, arguy. I can totally relate to your last cause. I've already told my daughter to expect me to be a very mean daddy when boys come a callin'

Wow, what adventures you and JT got into... I remember one prom, standing at the door with my date, looking around behind me hoping someone was going to make some kind of speech... I pretty much had to fend for myself since my dad wasn't around much. Your little girl will appreciate it, even if it may not seem so at the time.
