doggie quirks

Every time I bite into an apple my dog comes running. (They have good ears.) Just one crunchy bite and there he is, looking up at me, expectant.

So I bite off a piece for him, then I take a bite myself. And it goes on like that till the apple's all gone, and in the end I really only get 1/2 an apple...

The oddest (but also most endearing) thing he does is snort. He's very much a snorter. It goes something like this...

"Hey little fella, did you have a good day today?" (I admit, it's in the range of baby talk.)

Snort, snort.

"Did mommy take you on a walk today?" I rub him behind the ears and smile fondly at him.

Snort, snort. He's smiling fondly back up at me, (or at least it looks like he is...)

"Did you get to meet another dog at the park and sniff around?"

Snort, snort, snort. Sounds like a happy, blissful little guy, tail wagging and all.

It's the funniest thing... And it goes in intervals like that. It's like we're having a conversation.

The vet noticed it right away too and said it looks like you have a talker there. I asked him if he sees that much, and he said he didn't.

So I can't help but wonder how many apple eating pooches and snorters there are out there.

Thanks Blue. I agree with you, they're like family, aren't they. I think I'm going to go try and find a picture of him to post...

That's cool you do that too with your bird JP. And he likes apples!

Here's the world's smallest snowman arguy... notice the grass used for arms, and there is a protruding head there. (okay, it's melted some, but this is really how they used to look. The above was quite an improvement! if a little on the short side...) Did I mention my son is the snowman maker?
