enjoying the moment

Posted 09-28-2008 at 08:39 PM by emeraldsky

I have to remind myself to do that periodically. Live in the moment. Enjoy it. Don't just run around like a crazy person.

I really do that. I run through the halls at school, where I work, which is against the rules, I'm sure. So I better rethink that. Need to be a good example and all...

I love my job, working in the school. It's a privilege to work with children, and I value being able to.

So life is full these days. Going back to work after being a stay-at-home mom. The cool thing about it is my son is in the school I work at, so it's even better than being a stay-at-home (all by my lonesome) -mom.

I'm a bit more tired than usual though... Get up a little before 5am, so I can exercise. I'm surprised my body has adjusted so quickly and wakes up before the alarm goes off (set to 5am). The not so good part about that is sometimes I forget to turn it off... and then I hear my poor husband, thrashing about in the dark, trying to turn it off while I'm jumping around exercising in the living room. Poor guy. I've had to apologize quite a few times about that one... He's resorted to moving it over to his side of the bed.

I love to start my day that way, with exercise. Gives me more energy to do everything I need to do. In the shower by 6am. Out of the house by 7:15am. Then work, work, work. Home before 4pm. Evenings fly by and I'm about asleep by 9pm...

I just need to remember to enjoy the moments. Especially now that I'm settling in and can relax a bit more. I think...

And to keep a balance too, by still doing other things I love, so I don't get burned out.

I've picked up the Twilight series again, for the 2nd time. I need some downtime in the evening, and it's so nice to have a great love story to read. I listen to my One Republic CD way too often for everyone else I live with, I'm sure. But I can't help it. And I'm looking forward to getting together with friends soon for food and clay shooting. And an autumn hike next weekend in another part of Wyoming. Plus, here I am again at CD. Which I've missed. And shouldn't neglect. Hope everyone else out there is doing okay, and remembering to enjoy those good moments in our crazy days... Just had to use that cool new icon...

Wow, I work in a school too, and I have five kids. You seem to get twice as much done with twice as much energy. That is so great you have taken some time for yourself. I forget to do that at times. Enjoy the quite moments they don't come along that often.
