Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Time For The Texas Two-Step: Astros And Rangers, And It's ALCS Time
Posted 10-11-2023 at 09:36 PM by case44
I honestly didn't think that the Texas Rangers would get this far in the playoffs. You just can't underestimate Bruce Bochy and his way of pushing the right buttons and making things happen.
But, then, we all knew that the Houston Astros would get their marbles together, and now, here they are for a seventh straight trip to the American League Championship Series.
What do you get when these two teams get together? You get the Texas Two-Step. If the Astros had not been shifted to the American League, then we might have seen something I've always wanted to see, and that would have been an all-Texas World Series. Well, of course, that's not going to happen. But Texas sports fans will take this battle coming up this weekend, in the Battle of Texas. Two legendary managers, the aforementioned Bochy and Dusty Baker (and, perhaps, two future Hall-of-Famers), will be going after it, along with their respective rosters. Expect SRO sellouts in both locations.
Time to two-step in some baseball. Let the party begin!
Oh, and I'll take Houston in six....

Every Texan will be interested. This has the makings of the biggest ALCS in many years.

Forget about Game 1, Case. Houston will overcome this if your guys can just get to the opposing pitcher early and get the Rangers' bad bullpen more involved.

Hard to believe that the Rangers walked away the champions. Hell really did freeze over after all.
I still think the Astros still have something left and you'll have a great new guy running things in the clubhouse.Posted 11-20-2023 at 09:22 AM by malfunction
