This morning is the first time I've seen this. It's only in the subforums and only some of the subforums.

I usually use a different computer, so maybe it's this computer, but this is the computer I've always used in the past.

It's really annoying because it makes the forums and threads all narrow on the left side of the screen.

Any ideas?

Annoying as heck and the "x" does not work for me. Is there some other way to get rid of it?

agree with the previous posters and turned it off.
seems like it would make more sense at the bottom of the page.

Bottom of the page would be much better. The first thing I did on seeing this was come to about the forum to complain. It's early, and I didn't even notice the grey x, so I'm glad I checked in here.

Turning it off only works temporarily.

I have to turn it off every time I log back onto the site.

This is going to be a pain in the butt.
