I'm getting really annoyed at the messages that come up: you must wait 400 seconds between emails or posts...why is this? If one were going to inundate the forum or people with messages I'm sure they'd just have to do it slower, but why should everyone else suffer?

This is not only for spam protection but also to prevent people from amounting dozens of posts saying just "Oh," "Thank you" and so on. I think many other boards have this limit set even higher than we do.

I think the waits are a good thing. The wait also exists when reporting posts; I believe it's about 6 or 7 minutes required between reports.
I think the waits force people to think, or stop, or go do something else, thus preventing a certain amount of spam, revenge, pointless posts and even repetitive posts.

You should be able to DM a few people from your friends' list at the same time? If this is not the case, I'll ask Admin about it. I'm pretty sure this was supposed to be implemented. Let me know, please.

Okay, already asked the Admin. Unfortunately, this is the software limit. Changing it would require some custom programming and take a lot of time. Perhaps in the future, sorry.
