I'd take Lee County over Russell County. Much good going on there and Auburn High School is excellent if you have children.

I'm afraid it's much too rural to really have a good website dedicated to just Russell County. There are many changes on the horizon that will affect the entire Chattahoochee area and they will all revolve around BRAC. There is going to be a lot of growth in the Ft. Mitchell area due to it's convenience to Ft. Benning. I don't know how quickly Russell County will be able to adapt to it in regards to it's school district.

Smiths Station is a bustling suburb of Columbus. The schools system is great and the cost of living in low. It is a perfect place to live between Auburn/Opelika and Columbus.
