I read about this in the ADN paper I think. The cruisers have to be dressed before they come to port, and stay dressed the whole time at port and on excursions ashore. So all the better for our economy.

I think I may die of laughter. Why so... old fashioned, Oldfashioned?

Seriously, if these folks are going to wandering down Franklin declothed, I might have some qualms, but as far as I'm concerned they're just more brainless sheep being herded around clogging our streets and and replacing our mom and pop stores with jewelry emporiums. They're annoying whether or not they're wearing clothing while sailing down the Chatham strait.

Btw, for fun I looked it up. Be on the lookout for them at these times:
Juneau: July 22
Sitka: July 24
Ketchikan: July 25

Default I can see it now....

I can just see it now...

A bunch of obnoxiously drunk, mostly naked, beer-bellied and farmer-tanned Alaskans there at the cruise ship docks in nothing but their Xtra tuffs and a smile to welcome the Nude Cruisers to the state.

Hey, maybe we can start a new tradition! Last time I took the train to Seward there was already a couple of naked hippies mooning the train as we passed Girdwood.

yea, I could see us trying something like that to greet them. Row upon row of "halibut bellies" standing out there in Xtra-tuffs waving. Probably scare the heck out of them and it would be the first time a cruise ship would "plane-out" shooting down the channel.
Hey...I starting to get ideas.......(hmmmmm, July 22nd......)

Default winter project

WHAT?!? No beer belly OR XtraTuffs? What kind of Alaskan do you call yourself? (I mean, besides well-dressed and healthy)

I guess we can get you the boots, but you're gonna have to work on the "spare tire" yourself. Call it a winter project.

Hmmm... actually, on second thought I've almost always had company when I was working on MY beer belly. Something about beer just sort of seems to inspire that sort of community effort.

I know. I'm going down there too, if only to say I did. I'll bring back pictures (nothing inappropriate of course!) ...
