Yeah, done it. It's not terribly unusual. I'll look into your blog tomorrow when I have more time but from the comments here I'll bet its great; looking forward to it.

When I began working towards Alaska several years ago I thought I would teach in the bush. Long story short, I am single but coming with three kids. I figured living in the bush would be fine . . . but have far more luck so far finding job leads in small villages (Wrangell) or areas with more towns . . . Bethel, Unalaska . . .so, guess its not really the bush for me for right now, but thats based more upon needing to feed three kids I will get there someday though!

LOl, I don't live in the bush, but I think I at least qualify for the boonies. I'm still on the road system.

But, I'm sure you wll find plenty of adventurous souls here. And you never know where that soul may be lurking.

For example, I'm a born and raised New Yorker that spent my misguided youth club hopping in the Hamptons. Yet . . . I have a degree in Emergency Management. I can hunt and fish. I know how to garden how to can both veggies and meat. I dehydrate a ton of stuff. I have a pretty good set of survival skills. But, you would never know it by looking at me. I'm as likely to wear stillettos as I am Sorels.

Good luck with you cabin, I look forward to reading more about it.

Nikki
