So quick update: Got the car out of the shop today... and almost made it home! It broke down just 500 feet from the driveway. Maybe the master clutch cylinder now... We'll see how much this is now.

My parents finally agreed to come bail us out because we can't afford a moving van (nor do we need one) to move our stuff to Michigan from Illinois before we move to Alaska (since we don't need to take everything to Alaska, we're moving most of it to Michigan to my in-laws). Now they may need to tow the car too.

My biggest concern is this is eating big into my ability to get transportation when I get to Alaska. The cabin I have is on Better's Lane off Ballaine, and I need a vehicle for work.

Oh my god, so sorry this has been happening to you. That is rough. Ever since my mom's old Taurus did this to us on more than one occasion, I swore I would never buy anything American unless it was a truck. I've seen so many problems with American sedans. Especially Chevrolet and Dodge. So sorry, and I hope you make it up to Alaska for, well, whatever you're going to do up there. Aren't you participating in some kind of work program thing? Or am I completely crazy and thinking of someone else?

In any case, I hope you get up there sooner rather than later.

I am, AmeriCorps. I turned in my paperwork today, so hopefully they get my flight all taken care of shortly.
