Perhaps she should be in jail for being dumb enough to go on "dr phil" (an oxymoron for sure) and advertise her treatment of her child.

Fing idjit should be locked up for sure. But not for being stupid but for being an abusive pos to her own child.

She should be locked up for exploiting her child for fame and abuse.

Any parent that resorts to using 'torture' to teach a child should be locked up!!

One month of hotsauce cocktails and cold showers for the mother and twice that for her cop husband!!

She belongs in jail. I hate Dr Phil, but I happened to catch that episode. It made me sick to see that poor little boy in that cold shower screaming. Now she's claiming that the show told her she needed to film herself punishing him in order to get on the show, and that's the only reason she did it...because her son has behavioral problems and needed help from freaking Dr Phil.

She probably won't actually go to jail (at least not for long). A few anger management and childcare classes and they'll prob send her on her way. And I agree with Sity, she should drink some hot sauce straight, and then she should be stuck in a freezing cold shower. Maybe it'll fix her behavioral problems.

Proper discipline is necessary to 'train' & teach a child effectively but in this case - torture is not no where near the proper method. When this kid grows up and gets mad at someone. He is going to automatically respond in the manner in which "he was taught".

I wonder how many parents have ever taken the time to read the book of proverbs for the wisdom it contains on "how to train" a child!!

It should be required reading for every parent!!

"Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it" !!

Proverbs chapter 22:6

so if the parent has never been "taught" themselves....that parent will teach the child in their manner...this gives not substantial guidance as to how to raise a child. obsolete information an not current with what society is to this day...good thoughts but gone by the wayside sadly.

There is not one promise that God has made, that is obsolete !

Your sentence structure sounds like you are 'drunk'! so .. sober up, then maybe I can understand what your trying to say; which doesn't even make any sense.

Sity, you're one to talk; every post you've ever made sounds drunk to me. That's not even to mention your lack of regard for proper punctuation and grammatical rules.

Regardless... I am a wholehearted fan of 'unique' punishments befitting crimes. For instance: a lady in Texas (of all places!) was convicted of criminal animal negligence for letting her horse starve to death. The judge sentenced her to quite a bit of time in jail, to be served on the weekends, to allow her to keep her job. While she was in jail, she was to be served 3 meals a day. They were to consist of one slice of bread and one cup of milk. In addition, a picture of her starving horse was blown up to life-size and posted to the inside of her cell, so she could observe it while she did her time.
