Happy to say that we are not buried in snow here. Been a very warm winter except the foot or so we got around Thanksgiving.
That's the Frog Pond above Ward Lake outside Ketchikan, taken today. It is the farthest north point in the range of the Pacific Chorus Frog, after a population was introduced there as an experiment. They are thriving but have not spread outside the pond and are not crowding out native frog species. I think it's probably a good thing we have them even though they are not native, as they are threatened by pollution and urbanization in their endemic range but they are mostly safe here.

Hit by a bout of insomnia, I went down the hill and hung out on the Tanana for a bit. It was a bit clear so was hoping for some auroras as the clouds moved in. -31.

Thanks 1st... I've never been in those cold temperatures more the 7 days.. well they say clouds keep things a bit warmer.. I bet even 10 below would feel like a heat wave... Happy Monday.. they say it will be in the 40's today here.. most are very happy.. I've go mixed feelings about it... sorry you didn't get your aurora pics.. would have loved to see them
