Thats the brand I've been looking at. They seem to be pretty good and at a reasonable price.

For as much as I shoot out 'n about, I've been really looking at Monopods.

You could always geta carbon fiber tripod also. Some good ones out there or a monopod also some good ones out there. That is my next thing is a monopod.

Monopod? Is that kind of like a shooting rest type thingy? But for a camera not a gun, right?

I might have a Christmas idea for you, in that case...but I know zilch about photography stuff Wouldn't want to get the wrong thing!

Yes that is what it is. It is a single leg support for the camera.

Well holy cow! I even know a good company that makes those...maybe you'll get a surprise this Christmas! I just bought a hiking staff/monopod--but it's for a gun, not a camera. That was for myself, for hunting, but the same company makes nice monopods that collapse/break down and are packable...pretty nice!

You should PM me your address...or maybe I'll wait and hopefully you'll be up here sooner rather than later...easier to send it to ya here.
