I think that is why superglue was ever invented...as a medical tool.

I wasn't paying attention once and dropped the lift gate of our SUV on my head. I found out head wounds bleed a lot more than most wounds. Instead of going in for a stitch, we had an old bottle of liquid bandage which I used. I put some on and pinched to wound closed until the glue dried. We got a fresh bottle for reapplication. The stuff works great.

In an isolated area, I'd use it to close large wounds (axe, chainsaw, etc.), bandage it, and hike out for help. It's not for large wounds, but it has to be better than stitching yourself up with a needle & thread.

What are the biggest safety lessons you have learned during your years of living off the grid in a cabin? Even if it's real obvious stuff, please feel free to mention it. Any help would be appreciated.
In the older buildings at Yellowstone National Park. Appliances must have the UL sticker on the electrical cord. To become safety reasons. Use new appliances...

I just looked at your album...your cabin is wonderful! Did you build it yourself? Do you have to go out to work or are you self sufficient? Just looks beautiful -- congratulations!

That is all fine and dandy, but "Many" off grid places have no electrical grid to power such devices, unless they are lucky enough to have current bushes close by their cabins, then that is perfectly acceptable.

Well, I guess that the OP already got all the safety advise possible, so all I can do is to add some humor as follows: Keep the toilet paper dry

Looks like an Akita to me which was also used to hunt bear in Japan...I own one. The only characteristic that I see different is the eyes are not almond shape as you find in the Akita breed.

Yeah, besides having different coloration, a very different temperament, and being much smaller, they're practically identical to Akitas.

Reading up on this breed temperament it is the same as the Akita with the exception Akita like familiar kids BUT will put them in their place if they get out of hand...lol. The Akita also requires a strong (note I did not say aggressive), mentally balanced trainer to let them know YOU are alpha dog; not...and I mean NOT a dog for the common everyday person for sure, much like the Karelian.
