.

They would probably have a cross, but it wouldn't have Jesus on it. That would be in the Catholic Church...one more reason for them to protest.

I don't think they are really a church. They have tax exempt status by calling themselves that.

But look on the bright side. Their Big Kahuna has done the decent thing and finally assumed room temperature. Unfortunately, he out-lived both his shelf life and expiration date!

I wonder how they are financing their trip? Heh, I believe I know the answer to that one! And it isn't from the collection plate from last Sunday's church service which was attended by all 12 or so of their flock!

A few years ago the Westboro group piled into their bus and drove went to San Diego. A friend of mine lives in El Cajon and was at the yearly Comicon convention, which is the big convention for rare comic books, posters, etc., etc. They were not only wanting to get publicity as there was tv crews filming the demonstration (youtube Westboro Baptist Church demonstration in San Diego-there's a couple videos there), they no doubt were wanting to be stopped by someone so they could sue and collect on first amendment free speech grounds. Yes, a number of these yoyos are attorneys.

Bozos.

Are you saying they are nothing more than shakedown artists like reverend Jesse and Al? Just using a different cause?

Ignore them Alaskans, don't fund their road trips.

Heh, something like that!

They're like the National Lampoon magazine. They don't go after just the military and funerals, they go after everybody, including their own!

About 3 years ago, a friend of mine tipped me off on their website. I never had the time (much less the stomach) to pay attention to their agenda but he told me to click on a link called picket schedule.

Sure enough, they post a touring schedule as to dates and locations as to who they want to pay visits to. Looks like they get to Alaska on May 31st and are staying a couple days.

And yes, they go after churches as well, as their current schedule says. I guess their line of thought is "If you're not with us, then you're against us!"

DUH!!

Yes it's called false balance and the media do it to all the time to stir up ratings and distract people from things that really matter.

False balance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Journalism in America is a complete and utter joke.
