I still have to google it
Helimx, have you asked your girlfriend if she knows who he is? Maybe he's a former boyfriend of her (or he used to have a crush on her before) or something?
(Yeah, I know, too much TV for me...)

Rance tried to explain to me last summer how it works with all the state troopers and "city police" (is that the term?), but I'm not sure I understand fully how it works.
If something happens within a city, the city police deals with it, and if it happens outside of the city, the state troppers deals with it? Is it just about boundaries, or does the type of crime also play a role? Like murder? Or whatever is not a federal crime, like bank robbery etc.?

Actually, Sweden, in small town Alaska, that's not only possible, it's actually pretty probable.

Well, bank robbery could actually a federal crime- depending on how much is stolen, whether the robbers were armed, etc.
City police usually deal with stuff inside city limits, but of course they can be called in as backup anywhere. The Sheriff's office covers the entire borough/county, and the State Troopers (or state police depending on the state) covers the entire state. In very rare cases the FBI may be called in to assist.

Really? Huh, I always figured we just didn't have them since we don't really have any borough government, it's all part of the city.
Sorry for the misinformation-

Default check out the Chilkat Valley News

If you want to see what the recently retired chief of police in Haines thinks of the town, just check out his departing words in the Chilkat Valley News. Stirred things up a bit, he did. They're looking for some officers there, (including a new chief) if you're interested.

Haven't heard anything negative about Juneaus PD, BTW.
