I'm looking for a community with liberty. Here in Texas (and indeed most of the lower 48) people have become willing to allow the government more power than I care to live under. It seems that you Alaskans understand self-reliance and the government's proper role (i.e.- your gun laws, low taxes, home school none restrictiveness). I'm looking for a farming community with low (preferably no property) taxes, a self-reliant attitude (with of course community cooperation), and one that takes faith seriously. I've nothing against those on the left with a heavy government view. Its just not for me and it seems that people who like government have enough places to live. I see that around Fairbanks and Anchorage (like farmers loop) has agriculture. Does anybody out there have any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Let us know when you find it, we fall under the same Constitution here and have the same issues....

We just have less people, but that is changing fast and some bring the same crap they figured they were leaving behind, so at times, it don't seem much better....

You would need to come up for a visit in the dead of winter to see if you can handle the weather and then the summer to see what that is like at the other end of the extreme...

Good Luck

There is some "Meth" farming out by North Pole I am told... No, that is production....

I guess there is some "Organic" farming by Ester, but the Feds keep stealing the crops....

Guess I am at a lost to be very helpful on that one....

Giving the OP a wee benefit of the doubt...isn't Palmer more of an agricultural based town?

Get out in the middle of the bush somewhere away from towns and villages and you'll have lots of freedom. Be sure you're up to it though...and no you can't just pick a spot on public land and build a home there either before you ask, you'll need to buy some land...I think you'd be disappointed with either Fairbanks or Anchorage, they're both cities. Cities bring about what you're trying to escape, so stay away from cities...

Default thanks

Thank Yall for your help. What does land go for around delta junction? Are the gun laws as non-restrictive as your constitution reads? Is there work for welders?

Gun laws are pretty non-reatrictive. Welders around Delta usually work inside Ft. Greely. There is a place in Delta that builds an Artic rated module, but I don't have their name handy. Certs will probably be required for either of those choices.
