What parts of Alaska have the typical/semi-typical 4 seasons? Ideally an area that is not mostly swamp land, but has plenty of trees and land that is good for gardening. Mountains or large hills would be nice too.

I did do a search, but didn't come up with anything that answered this.

All of Alaska has four seasons: Fall, winter, spring, construction.

Sounds like you want south central.

If you live in the Interior it is more like Fall, Winter, Break-Up, Construction.

Keep in mind that fall usually lasts 2 weeks and Winter is about 7 months long, Break-Up is about 4 - 6 weeks and Construction season is whatever is left.

Well, if you and the missus spend too many days together under cabin fever conditions, that breakup might be quicker than 4-6 weeks, eh?

The Mat-Su valley has 4 seasons, plenty of trees, good gardening, & mountains.
