My house was built in 1789- no insulation = freezing. Tips to keep warm from Alaskans? How do I sleep without putting the heat on, my face gets too cold and makes me sneeze. Will my skin dry out if I sleep with a face mask?

I think you're going to have to turn on your heat.

At least turn it on high enough to not wake up with iceicles on your face...or frostbite...

A home built in the 1700's should have a few fire places. Build a fire or two.

Buy a portable heater from anywhere...Costco, Sam's, Walmart etc and put it in your room at night. Some are very energy efficient. A much better alternative than sleeping with a scratchy face mask and a cheaper alternative than turning on your central heat lol.

I use a delonghi Dragon heater, takes a while to heat up but has a timer on it, works great in a bedroom, but dont expect it to heat up your whole house. also used to use a 0 degree sleeping bag in a trailer, along with two other blankets.
