We don't even fish for chum, I don't think I've ever ate it before. We get kings for drying, reds/cohos for smoking.

Trident no doubt is behind this. They've been aggressively trying to market their dog salmon for a couple of years now.

I was just at Target this evening and that's the only kind of wild salmon they had available. If I didn't know what good salmon tasted like I would never touch the stuff again, so yes it is a pity that that is what they sell.
